The "2025 Expert Consensus Conference of the Trauma Branch of the Chinese Society of Geriatrics and Academic Conference on Digital Wound Therapy (New Directions of Wound Medical Services)" was held in Chizhou City, Anhui Province from April 11th to 13th, 2025, hosted by the Burn and Trauma Branch of the Chinese Society of Geriatrics and organized by the First Affiliated Hospital of Anhui Medical University. Present at the meeting were Professor Fu Xiaobing, Honorary President of the Chinese Geriatrics Society and an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Professor Guo Guanghua, President of the Burn and Trauma Branch of the Chinese Geriatrics Society, Professor Hu Dahai, advisor, Professor Cheng Biao, Professor Xie Weiguo, Professor Zhang Pihong, Professor Zhang Jiaping, Professor Liu Yi, Professor Tao Ke, Vice presidents, Professor Jiang Yufeng, General Director, and Professor Min Dinghong, Deputy General Director. And more than 30 experts, including some standing committee members. Professor Chen Xulin, the vice president of the First Affiliated Hospital of Anhui Medical University and the Party secretary and president of the High-tech Campus, also attended the meeting.
First, an academic conference on digital wound treatment was held. Professor Guo Guanghua focused on elaborating on how to use digital technology to achieve precise assessment of wounds, customized treatment, and remote monitoring, aiming to bring more efficient and convenient medical services to elderly patients with burn trauma. The experts attending the meeting delved deeply into the core topic of "digital wound treatment", discussing the application potential of cutting-edge technologies such as artificial intelligence, telemedicine, big data analysis, and 3D printing in wound repair and management. They also demonstrated the significant advantages of digital healthcare in enhancing diagnosis and treatment efficiency and improving patient prognosis.
The following consensus meeting was presided over by Professor Guo Guanghua, the president, and Academician Fu Xiaobing delivered a speech. The experts attending the meeting conducted the final review and finalization of the "Expert Consensus on Traditional Chinese Medicine Diagnosis and Treatment of Burn Shock" and the "Expert Consensus on Diagnosis and Treatment of Acute Traumatic Wounds in the Elderly". Meanwhile, the "Expert Consensus on Clinical Diagnosis and Treatment of Inhalation Injury in Adults" was also interpreted and reported with updated content. In addition, the experts on "Expert Consensus on the Application of Bone Cement in Diabetic Wounds" and "Connotation Construction of Managing Chronic Wounds in the Elderly with the Concept of Chronic Critical Illness" also carefully reviewed and discussed. Everyone spoke freely and expressed their opinions, making the academic atmosphere extremely lively.
Next, Professor Cheng Biao gave a detailed report on the preparations for the 11th Academic Conference of the Burn and Trauma Branch of the Chinese Geriatrics Society, including the theme of the conference, the date of the meeting, the venue situation and the agenda setting, etc. President Guo Guanghua and the experts discussed the activity preparations for the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the branch together. President Guo Guanghua said in his summary of the meeting that this meeting was an important one to carry forward the annual work of the branch. All the agendas were carried out smoothly and achieved fruitful results. The meeting was a complete success. 2025 marks the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the Chinese Geriatrics Society and the 10th anniversary of the Burn and Trauma Branch. It is also a crucial year for promoting the high-quality development of the society. We hope that all colleagues of the branch will unite and collaborate, closely centering on the Healthy China strategy and the demands of elderly health services, and under the leadership of the General Association, write a new chapter in the development of the branch with dedication and perseverance. We will continue to uphold the concept of "innovation, collaboration and development", and join hands with colleagues across the country to contribute to improving the diagnosis and treatment level of elderly burn and trauma and serving the Healthy China strategy!
