From March 22nd to 23rd, 2025, the "Third Advanced Training Course on Innovative Management of Medical and Elderly Care Integration (Chengdu Station)" was held at Chenghua District Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Chengdu. The event was hosted by the Chinese Society of Geriatrics and organized by the Medical and Elderly Care Integration Promotion Committee of the Chinese Society of Geriatrics, the Health and Family Planning Bureau of Chenghua District, Chengdu City, and Chenghua District Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine. More than 130 representatives from academic associations, universities, medical institutions, elderly care institutions and enterprises in the field of medical and elderly care integration across the country attended the conference to jointly explore innovative paths for medical and elderly care integration in the new era. This training course aims to gather industry wisdom, deepen theoretical and practical innovation in the integration of medical care and elderly care, contribute to the construction of a high-quality medical and elderly care service system, and provide a platform for in-depth communication and learning for managers, practitioners and researchers in the field of medical care and elderly care integration across the country.

Deng Dongfei, executive vice secretary-general of the Chinese Society of Geriatrics, Chen Yunqi, honorary director of the Medical and Elderly Care Integration Working Committee of the Chinese Society of Geriatrics, Yang Tingshu, president of the Medical and Elderly Care Integration Promotion Committee of the Chinese Society of Geriatrics, and Huang Youjing, deputy director of the Chengdu Municipal Health Commission, attended the opening ceremony. The opening ceremony was presided over by Cheng Lihong, General Director of the Medical and Elderly Care Integration Promotion Committee of the Chinese Society of Geriatrics.

Deng Dongfei, the executive vice secretary-general of the Chinese Society of Geriatrics, delivered a speech, pointing out that the convening of this advanced training course on innovative management of medical and elderly care integration (Chengdu Station) is an important measure taken by the Chinese Society of Geriatrics in response to the national strategy of actively addressing population aging. It is also a high-level academic exchange platform built by gathering the strength of all parties of the society and integrating high-quality resources. As one of the first medical and elderly care demonstration units in Sichuan Province, Chenghua District Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine, the organizing unit, has innovatively created a service model of "co-management of multiple diseases and integration of traditional Chinese and Western medicine", accumulating valuable experience and serving as a model for the participants to learn from and draw upon. It is believed that this training course will be a complete success. In the future, the Society will continue to promote the implementation of policies and the integration of industry, academia and research, and drive the research of geriatric medicine and the development of the medical and elderly care integration industry.

Yang Tingshu, the president of the Medical and Elderly Care Integration Promotion Committee of the Chinese Geriatrics Society, delivered a speech emphasizing that medical and elderly care integration is the core of the national strategy for addressing population aging. This training course focuses on core issues such as policy interpretation, service standards, and quality control of medical and elderly care integration, inviting many authoritative experts to share systematic theories and practical experiences. As a council member of the Chinese Society of Geriatrics and the organizer of this training course, Chenghua District Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine has established a "Chenghua model" in the fields of standardization, informatization and intelligence with its service pattern of "medical care with elderly care and elderly care with medical care", jointly exploring key issues such as policy trends, service standards and full-process management of medical and elderly care integration, providing replicable practical experience for the industry. It is believed that through this in-depth exchange, new inspirations will be brought to the representatives attending the meeting.

Huang Youjing, deputy director of the Chengdu Municipal Health Commission, delivered a speech and systematically introduced the policy development and practical achievements of medical and elderly care integration in Chengdu, emphasizing the significant importance of promoting the quality and efficiency improvement of regional services through resource integration and talent cultivation.

Zhang Nie, the Secretary of Chenghua District Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Chengdu and the Director and associate professor of Kangsui Elderly Care Center; Wang Guiqin, the director of the Office of Medical and Elderly Care Integration Quality Control Center of Henan Provincial Health Commission and the Office of Medical and Elderly Care Integration of the Fifth Affiliated Hospital of Zhengzhou University; Peng Meihua, the director and associate professor of the School of Management of Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine and the Institute of Health Industry and Medical Security of Health Sichuan Research Institute Shi Yongxing, the expert group leader of the Shanghai Palliative Care Service Management Center, and other experts respectively presented on "Integration of Medical Care and Elderly Care: "Policy Implementation and Domestic and International Practices", "Service Standards for Medical and Elderly Care Integration Institutions' Medical Connection Services", "Service Standards Facilitating Medical and Elderly Care", "Medical and Elderly Care Integration and Medical and Elderly Care Convergence", "Overall Design and Implementation Measures for Creating 'National Medical and Elderly Care Integration Demonstration Counties (Districts), Institutions'", "Report and Exchange on the' Guiyang Model 'of Medical and Elderly Care Integration", "Full-Process Standardized Management of Medical and Elderly Care Integration Institutions", "Medical and Elderly Care Integration Talent Team. The cutting-edge topics such as "Construction of Management System", "Quality Management and Safety Control of Medical and Elderly Care Integration Services", "Empowering Medical and Elderly Care Integration with Long-Term Care Insurance to Build a New Ecosystem for Elderly Care", and "Standardization and Implementation Path of Palliative Care Service Processes in Medical and Elderly Care Integration Institutions" brought wonderful sharing to the participants. The event was presided over by Xia Xiaoqin, the vice president of Chenghua District Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Chenghua City.

During the session on sharing practical experience from institutions, experts such as Xia Xiaoqin, the vice president of Chenghua District Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Fan Xiangmin, the director of the Geriatric Medicine Department, and Xie Yulian, the director of the Rehabilitation Medicine Department, respectively shared their insights on themes including the prevention and control of safety risks in medical and elderly care services, multi-disciplinary teamwork, and the application of rehabilitation techniques and traditional Chinese medicine health preservation concepts in the integration of medical care and elderly care. It showcases the hospital's innovative practices and successful experiences in the field of integrating medical care and elderly care. In addition, the training course also arranged a clinical practice observation session. The participants visited the rehabilitation department, geriatrics Department (hospice Care center), and health care center (Nutrition Department) of Chengdu Chenghua District Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine on the spot, gaining a deep understanding of the specific operation processes and management models of the hospital in the integration of medical care and elderly care services, providing intuitive learning and exchange opportunities for the participants.

At the closing ceremony, Cheng Lihong, the general director of the Medical and Elderly Care Integration Promotion Committee of the Chinese Geriatrics Society, presented the certificates of completion to the trainees and made a comprehensive summary of this training course. She reviewed the wonderful content and rich achievements of the training course, emphasizing that the innovative management of medical and elderly care integration requires the continuous efforts of all parties and strengthened cooperation and exchanges.
