The founding conference of the Stomatology Branch of the Chinese Geriatric Society and the first academic Conference on Oral Health of the Elderly were successfully held
On November 30, 2024, the founding meeting of the Stomatology Branch of the Chinese Geriatric Society and the first academic Conference on Geriatric Oral Health was held in Beijing. Guided by the Chinese Geriatric Society, sponsored by the Preparatory Committee of the Stomatology Branch of the Chinese Geriatric Society and hosted by the Stomatology Hospital of Peking University, the conference brought together more than 150 stomatology experts and scholars from various provinces and cities across the country, aiming to strengthen academic exchanges in the field of geriatric stomatology and promote the development of oral health services for the elderly. And contribute to the cause of oral health care for the elderly in our country.
The conference opened in a solemn and warm atmosphere. Fan Li, president of the Chinese Geriatric Society, attended the meeting and delivered a speech, expressing warm congratulations on the establishment of the Stomatology Branch of the Chinese Geriatric Society, and high hopes for the future work of the branch. Xu Xiaodong, vice president and secretary-general of the Chinese Geriatric Society, read out the approval of the Stomatology Branch of the Chinese Geriatric Society. Wei Yan, the preparatory Committee of the Stomatology Branch, made a report on the preparatory work of the Stomatology Branch of the Chinese Geriatric Society, and made a detailed report from three aspects: the application stage, the preparatory work of the branch, and the preparatory work of the establishment conference. The meeting elected the first committee of the Stomatology Branch of the Chinese Geriatric Society, composed of 169 experts with outstanding contributions in the field of geriatric stomatology. Professor Deng Xuliang, President of Peking University Stomatological Hospital, was elected President, Ge Shaohua, Huang Hui, Liu Bin, Liu Ousheng, Peng Xin, Xia Juan, Yan Xu, Zhang Tong and Zhu Zhuoli were elected vice presidents, and President Deng Xuliang nominated Wei Yan and Xu Mingming as director general and Deputy Director General.
Deng Xuliang, elected president of the Stomatology Branch of the Chinese Geriatric Society, gave a speech, thanking the leadership of the Chinese Geriatric Society for their strong support. The establishment of the Stomatology Branch, in line with the development trend of The Times, aims to build a platform for academic exchanges, scientific research cooperation, personnel training, and science popularization, and promote the prosperity and development of the cause of geriatric stomatology. Together with all members of the club, we will uphold the purpose of "service, innovation and development" and actively promote the development of various work of the club.
At the same time of the establishment of the conference, the first academic conference on oral health of the elderly was held. The academic conference was taught by a number of well-known oral medicine experts, geriatric medicine experts, social experts, around the development of aging society, elderly health management, the latest research results of geriatric oral medicine, clinical technology and treatment experience for in-depth discussion and exchange.
Professor Fan Li, president of the Chinese Geriatric Society, made a theme report on the Development of Geriatric Medicine and Health Management. Starting from the current situation of the serious aging of the population in China, he put forward new requirements for the in-depth participation of the dental community in the health management of the elderly: to do more interdisciplinary and cross-field cooperation between production, university and research; Issuing authoritative guidelines and standards; We will strengthen publicity and science popularization to improve the social care capacity of the elderly population.
Professor Deng Xuliang, president of the Stomatology Branch of the Chinese Geriatric Society, made the theme report "Strengthening oral Health care for the Elderly to help the construction of a healthy China", starting from the diagnosis and treatment of oral diseases and health management of the elderly, strengthening the concept of oral weakness; From the dimension of oral diseases, it emphasizes the chronic diseases and the solutions of diseases.
Professor Chen Gong, director of the Institute of Population Studies, Peking University, delivered a keynote report titled "China's Population Change and Active Response to Population Aging", explaining that population is always a global and strategic issue. The development of China's population shows the trend of fewer children, aging, and differentiation of regional population. We should take a systematic approach to population planning, closely integrate high-quality population development with high-quality life for the people, and promote well-rounded human development and common prosperity for all. We will implement a national strategy to actively respond to an aging population.
Professor Liu Bin, President of the Stomatological Hospital of Lanzhou University, shared the diagnosis, treatment and research work on implant restoration of the elderly oral cavity; Professor Ge Shaohua, President of the Stomatological Hospital of Shandong University, shared how to do the comfortable periodontal treatment step by step; Professor Peng Xin, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Peking University Stomatological Hospital, shared the treatment strategy of elderly oral and maxillofacial tumors; Yan Xu, professor of Stomatology Hospital of China Medical University, shared the research status and progress of oral weakness in the elderly. Professor Zhu Zhuoli from West China Stomatology Hospital of Sichuan University shared the construction of biosafety layout of oral consulting room; Professor Huang Hui from the Ninth People's Hospital Affiliated to Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine shared the clinical application of implant overlay denture; Professor Zhang Tong of the First Medical Center of the PLA General Hospital shared the new needs of oral health of the elderly.
The establishment of the Stomatology Branch of Chinese Geriatric Society and the convening of the first academic Conference on Geriatric Oral Health marked that geriatric stomatology in China has entered a new development stage.
