The First National Annual Meeting of Anesthesiology Branch of Chinese Geriatric Society and Chinese Geriatrics in 2021
"2021 The First National Annual Meeting of the Chinese Geriatric Society Anesthesiology Branch and the Second Committee Meeting of the Chinese Geriatric Society Anesthesiology Branch" was successfully held online from December 10 to 12, 2021. The conference was hosted by the Chinese Geriatric Society Anesthesiology Branch and hosted by the First Medical Center of the PLA General Hospital and the General Hospital of Tianjin Medical University. With the theme of "Creating a Beautiful Sunset Together", this meeting invited authoritative experts and scholars to carry out extensive exchanges, aiming to give full play to the academic leading role of the Branch, promote discipline construction and academic research, innovate the perioperative medical model of geriatric anesthesia, promote the training of anesthesia service personnel, and establish a multi-departmental cooperation perioperative service team for the elderly. To build a transformation platform for production, education, research and application, to improve the perioperative medical service level and research quality for the elderly, reach the international level, and benefit the elderly in our country.
The guests attending the opening ceremony were Professor Fan Li, President of the Chinese Geriatric Society and director of the National Clinical Medical Research Center for Geriatric Diseases (PLA General Hospital), Academician Fu Xiaobing, Honorary President of the Chinese Geriatric Society, Xu Xiaodong, Vice President and Secretary-General of the Chinese Geriatric Society, Professor Wang Guolin, President of the Anesthesiology Branch of the Chinese Geriatric Society, Professor Mi Weidong, Director of anesthesiology Department of the First Medical Center of the PLA General Hospital, Professor Huang Yuguang, Chairman of the Anesthesiology Branch of the Chinese Medical Association, Director Wang Fei of the Medical Resources Department of the Medical Administration Bureau of the National Health Commission, Professor Deng Xiaoming of the First Affiliated Hospital of the Navy Medical University, Professor Xiangming of the First Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang University School of Medicine, and other well-known experts and professors of anesthesia related fields in the country. The opening ceremony was co-chaired by Cao Jiangbei, Vice President of the Anesthesiology Branch, and Xie Keliang, Director General.
Fan Li, President of the Chinese Geriatric Society, delivered a speech, saying that under the leadership of President Wang Guolin, the Anesthesiology Branch gave full play to its academic leading role, actively promoted the construction and development of the discipline, created a new medical model for the perioperative period of geriatric anesthesia, established a multi-departmental cooperation perioperative service team for the elderly, promoted the training of anesthesia talents, and carried out grassroots support work. Build a broader platform for academic exchange. It has played a positive role in improving the perioperative management level of elderly patients in China. Through this annual meeting and the wonderful academic exchanges of experts, it will certainly bring an academic feast to the participants.
The chairman of this meeting, Professor Wang Guolin, president of the Anesthesiology Branch of the Chinese Geriatric Society, said in his speech that the anesthesiology Branch will study and implement the spirit of the CPC Central Committee and The State Council's "Opinions on Strengthening the work of Aging in the New Era", and work hard to provide good health services for the elderly under the leadership of the association. Organize the compilation of expert consensus, science popularization, strengthen external exchanges and basic and clinical research, and make every effort to promote the comprehensive development of the branch work. Professor Huang Yuguang, Chairman of the Chinese Society of Anesthesiology, on behalf of the Chinese Society of Anesthesiology, expressed warm congratulations on the convening of this conference. Some guiding opinions and suggestions on the subject construction and the development direction of academic research are put forward.
Wang Fei, director of the Medical Resources Department of the Medical Administration Hospital Authority of the National Health Commission, said that China has entered the aging society and is in the stage of deepening aging, strengthening the perioperative service of the elderly and improving the perioperative management level is an important part of the medical service for the elderly. It is hoped that anesthesian-related professionals can focus on the needs and characteristics of the perioperative period of the elderly, do academic research and clinical rash therapy, sum up good experience and practice, and do a good job in medical and health services.
President Fan Li made an academic report on the Development and Management of Gerontology; Academician Fu Xiaobing made an academic report "Regenerative Medicine: Scientific problems, Economic Benefits and Public Demand", which was warmly received by the participants.

Since the afternoon of December 11, different thematic sub-sessions have been carried out, and many domestic anesthesiology celebrities have appeared and made wonderful academic reports.

Section 9 "Medical Research and Medical Statistics", Professor Peng Yunshui, Editorial Director of the Chinese Journal of Anesthesiology, Professor Wan Ru, Editorial director of the Journal of Clinical Anesthesiology, Professor Wang Yabin, the Second Medical Center of the PLA General Hospital, Professor Lu Yihan, School of Public Health of Fudan University, Professor Niu Kaijun, School of Public Health of Tianjin Medical University, and Professor Li Nan, Third Hospital of Peking University, were invited to give excellent keynote speeches.
During the meeting, the second plenary committee meeting of the Anesthesiology Branch of the Chinese Geriatric Society was also held. Xu Xiaodong, vice president and secretary-general of the Chinese Geriatric Society, and Zhao Inheritance, deputy Secretary-General, attended the meeting. Xu Xiaodong, Vice president and Secretary-General, pointed out that the CPC Central Committee and The State Council issued the Opinions on Strengthening the Work of Aging in the New Era, hoping that the branch would seize opportunities and challenges in the next step of work, fully study the spirit of the document, and implement the content and requirements of the document. And put forward four requirements for the work of next year's branch: 1. Grasp the characteristics, integrate resources; 2. Give full play to advantages and expand influence; 3. Consolidate achievements and build brands; 4. Step steady and strong base, safety first. Under the leadership of President Wang Guolin, we hope that the branch will make due contributions to the development of the health cause of the elderly.
President Wang Guolin summarized the meeting. The meeting invited 120 anesthesiology majors and well-known experts and professors in related majors to make 72 wonderful reports, and made in-depth discussions on the achievements and hot spots of basic research and clinical technology related to geriatric anesthesiology. The delegates responded enthusiastically. The total number of hits reached 78,520! It is believed that the successful holding of the conference will play an important role in promoting the academic level and technical progress in the field of geriatric anesthesia.
