Professor Li Tianzhi, director of the Second Medical Center of the PLA General Hospital, delivered a speech, saying that the series of training courses on Geriatric Clinical Practice Skills aims to improve the skills of geriatric managers and physicians in managing geriatric syndrome and the level of clinical research, so as to better maintain the function of the elderly, improve the quality of life, and meet the needs of the development of an aging society. The opening ceremony of the training course was presided over by Xu Xiaodong, Vice president and Secretary General of the Chinese Geriatric Society, who first introduced the course, significance and highlights of the training course. Under the strong support of leaders at all levels and the careful planning of everyone's joint efforts, the Advanced Training Course on Clinical Practice Skills in Gerontology has been carried out to the eighth phase. This training course focuses on the needs of the National Health Commission's "Prevention and Intervention of Disability after senile frailty" project, and carries out interdisciplinary management of senile disability, frailty and cognitive impairment and teaching activities such as exercise, nutrition intervention, multidisciplinary outpatient construction of senile frailty, comorbidity management from the perspective of geriatric medicine and clinical research skills improvement. The combination of theoretical teaching, multidisciplinary case discussion and online "cloud" ward round is adopted to ensure the training effect. This three-day training course has six themes, 33 lectures and 67 experts. Professor Fan Li, president of the Chinese Geriatric Society and director of the National Clinical Medical Research Center for Geriatric Diseases (PLA General Hospital), interpreted the expert consensus on hypertension and cognitive disorders in the elderly. President Fan introduced and explained screening tools such as ";AD 8" and "Mini-Cog";. The recommendations for comprehensive intervention of hypertension combined with cognitive impairment through blood pressure management are given, and five categories of antihypertensive drugs can be used for the treatment of hypertension combined with cognitive impairment in the elderly. Professor Chen Biao from Xuanwu Hospital of Capital Medical University delivered a speech on the topic of "Healthy aging and Construction of health service system for the aged". In the course of the speech, he mentioned that the goal of healthy aging is to extend the healthy life expectancy of the people, and the key to achieve healthy aging is continuous management of people, and explained the concept of "people-oriented" and related knowledge content.

Professor Yu Pulin from Beijing Hospital interpreted the core information of preventing disability in the elderly from multiple perspectives, such as early identification and screening of disability, assessment of activities of daily living, early identification and management of cognitive impairment, scientific and rational drug use, and emphasis on functional rehabilitation of the elderly. At the same time, Professor Yu Pring also called for respecting the independent choice of the elderly, increasing the tolerance of society, and also caring for the elderly care staff, providing relevant training and support for the care staff. 

Professor Dong Bilong from West China Hospital of Sichuan University, with the topic of ";How to do a good job in the design and implementation of the real world cohort study", introduced the frailer cohort study in western China and shared her valuable experience in five aspects of "determining the research purpose, determining the research object, determining the sample content, determining the sampling method, and designing the research content".

Professor Chen Zheng, Vice President of the Chinese Geriatric Society and Beijing Geriatric Hospital, focused on the topic of "Establishment of multidisciplinary elderly outpatient Service" and explained the construction objectives, construction standards, resource allocation, multidisciplinary team composition, and patient access norms of multidisciplinary elderly outpatient service. In the composition of the multidisciplinary team, Professor Chen also stressed the importance of the case manager.

Professor Li Jian 'an from the First Affiliated Hospital of Nanjing Medical University introduced the topic of "Assessment and Rehabilitation of elderly Disability based on ICF". In this process, he explained the general combination of ICF, the evaluation scale of ICF, and focused on the related content of elderly disability research based on ICF. At the same time, Professor Li Jianan hopes that everyone will pay attention to the disability of the elderly, because the elderly will be disabled without disease, and the thinking of medicine, rehabilitation and old-age care based on the disability axis should be established.

Associate Professor Kang Lin of Peking Union Medical College Hospital brought to you ";New progress and guideline interpretation of asthenic sarcopenia". The concept, etiology and classification of sarcopenia were elaborated, and the screening and diagnosis procedures for sarcopenia recommended by the Expert Consensus on the Diagnosis and Treatment of sarcopenia published by the AWGS in 2019 were shared, as well as the results of related projects.

Intervention programmes to promote geriatric nutrition model wards can be consistently implemented and followed up in outpatient and community Settings.
