"New Progress Conference of Emergency Medicine Branch of Chinese Geriatrics Society" was successfully held in Nanjing, Jiangsu Province from August 30 to September 1, 2024! The event was sponsored by the Emergency Medicine Branch of the Chinese Geriatric Society and co-hosted by Gulou Hospital Affiliated to the School of Medicine of Nanjing University and Jiangsu Emergency Medicine Quality Control Center. The conference lasted for two and a half days, nearly 400 experts and scholars participated, and 149 experts exchanged ideas.
On the afternoon of August 30, the operation training with the theme of improving emergency practice diagnosis and treatment technology and serving elderly patients; The Chinese Emergency patient nutrition Treatment Group Standard project seminar and the Committee of the Emergency Medicine Branch of the Chinese Geriatric Society opened the curtain of the conference.

On the morning of August 31, the conference opened. Guests included: Professor Fan Li, President of the Chinese Geriatric Society; Professor Xu Xiaodong, Vice President and Secretary General of the Chinese Geriatric Society; Professor Guo Wei, President of the Emergency Medicine Branch of the Chinese Geriatric Society; Vice President of the Branch: Six professors, Yin Ming, Jian Xiangdong, Su Enben, Yan Xianliang, Ma Yuefeng, Tang Youqing, as well as dozens of well-known experts and professors in the industry, as well as more than 300 fellow scholars in the emergency department, attended the conference. The conference kicked off with an impassioned opening speech by the host Sun Caihui (Nanjing First Hospital) and Liang Yuanyuan (Zhongda Hospital Affiliated to Southeast University).
The opening ceremony was addressed by two leaders: Professor Fan Li, President of the Chinese Geriatric Society, and Professor Guo Wei, president of the Emergency Medicine Branch of the Chinese Geriatric Society. Including the release of "China Elderly Cardiopulmonary resuscitation expert Consensus"; The launch of "Expert consensus on coagulation function examination of the whole process of pulmonary thromboembolism"; "China elderly cardiopulmonary resuscitation group standard development" and "China ischemic stroke emergency first aid group standard development" started; In addition, the compilation of "Diagnosis and Treatment of Common Acute Viral Infectious Diseases" has also been officially launched. The paper collection and exhibition session of the conference lasted more than three months, and a total of more than 40 excellent papers were submitted, and representatives of the excellent team were displayed on the rostrum. On the morning of September 1, 2024, the New Progress Conference of the Emergency Medicine Branch of the Chinese Geriatrics Society was broadcast live online through Tencent platform, focusing on the latest progress and frontier exploration in the field of emergency medicine, which attracted the active participation and heated discussions of many colleagues in the medical field. In particular, the conference set up five sub-conferences, including narrative medicine, poisoning, biomedical engineering innovation, emergency nursing and emergency science popularization, covering many important fields of emergency medicine.
The academic forum focused on trauma and infection, severe diseases and nutrition, emergency stroke, emergency cardiopulmonary resuscitation, TCM emergency branch and other topics to carry out in-depth discussions, sharing the latest research results and clinical experience.
