The 7th Annual Conference and Plenary Session of Neurology Branch of Chinese Geriatric Society in 2022
On November 5-6, sponsored by the Neurology Branch of the Chinese Geriatric Society, The 7th Annual Conference of Neuromedicine Branch of Chinese Geriatrics Society 2022, jointly organized by the Affiliated Hospital of Xuzhou Medical University, the Second Affiliated Hospital of Xuzhou Medical University, Xuzhou East Hospital Affiliated to Xuzhou Medical University, Stroke Professional Committee of Xuzhou Physicians Association and Xuzhou Mental Health Association, was successfully held.
By means of online participation and live lectures, the conference will set up a main venue and multiple sub-venues. Well-known experts in the field of geriatric neuromedicine at home and abroad and outstanding scholars in related fields were invited to gather in the cloud to focus on hot issues in geriatric neuromedicine for in-depth discussion and extensive exchanges. The two-day conference attracted 19,000 participants, with a total of more than 46,000 viewers.

On the morning of November 5, the opening ceremony of the conference was held. Professor Fan Li, President of the Chinese Geriatric Society, Professor Wang Renhao, Vice President of Xuzhou Medical University and Secretary of the Party Committee of Xuzhou Medical University Affiliated Hospital, and Professor Rong Liangqun, president of the Second Affiliated Hospital of Xuzhou Medical University attended and gave speeches. The opening ceremony was presided over by Professor Geng Detouche, chairman of the conference.
President Fan Li pointed out in his speech that with the increasing aging of the population, the incidence of stroke, cognitive impairment, Parkinson's syndrome and other diseases has significantly increased, seriously affecting the quality of life of the elderly. The Chinese Geriatric Society united neuromedical experts from all over the country, and made great contributions to the continuous improvement of the academic level in the field of neuromedicine, the development of geriatric neuromedicine, and the basic management level of elderly patients across the country by giving full play to their professional advantages and pooling their wisdom. This conference provides a high-level academic exchange platform for the experts and scholars of geriatric medicine and neuromedicine in the country. In his speech, Professor Wang Renhao introduced the development process of the 125th anniversary of the establishment of the Affiliated Hospital of Xu Medical University, especially the achievements achieved in the process of high-quality transformation and development in the past five years. He said that the Neurology Branch of the Chinese Geriatric Society is an important platform to display the latest research results in the field of geriatric neurology in China and promote the comprehensive development of the discipline, and has played a positive role in promoting the cause of geriatric medicine, especially the development of geriatric neurology. This meeting brings together many well-known experts in the field of neuromedicine across the country. In his speech, Professor Rong Liangqun expressed his best wishes for the development of geriatric neurology in China. He said China has the largest number of elderly people in the world.
