In order to celebrate the centennial of the founding of the Communist Party of China, the "5th National Vascular Health Management Summit Forum for the Elderly and the 8th stop of VTE Prevention and Control Wisdom Cloud Tour - Shenzhen Station" co-sponsored by the Chinese Geriatric Society Peripheral Vascular Disease Management Branch, West China Hospital of Sichuan University and Shenzhen Hospital of the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences was successfully held online on June 13, 2021.

The event was jointly organized by the First Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou Medical University, the Second Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou Medical University and the East China Hospital Affiliated to Fudan University. Prof. Zhao Jichun is the chairman of the conference, Prof. Lin Shaomang and Prof. Wang Haiyang are the co-chairmen of the conference, and Prof. Wang Tao is the executive chairman of the conference. The tour began after watching a documentary on "Reform and opening up".

The experts at the meeting respectively brought wonderful academic sharing, Professor Zhao Jichun on the elderly VTE treatment and challenges to share; Professor Lin Shaomang talked about the Establishment of Hospital Prevention and Control System of VTE; Prof. Wang Tao introduced "New Progress in Diagnosis and Treatment of VTE"; Professor Wang Haiyang talked about "Clinical Prevention and Management of VTE in Hospital - The Importance of Vascular Surgery"; Prof. Cui Jiasen shared "Management and Thinking of PTS"; Professor Zhan Zhongqun talked about the value of electrocardiogram in diagnosing pulmonary embolism; Professor Ji Jun shared "Metabolic Frontier Research of VTE"; Professor Wu Yibin talked about "Ultrasonic diagnosis of pulmonary embolism and Retrospective analysis of past cases"; Head Nurse Liu Xiaoyan shared "Construction and Practice of VTE Prevention and Treatment System in Vascular Surgery Department of West China Hospital". The academic session was presided over by professors Zhao Jichun, Wang Tao and Wang Haiyang. Afterwards, Professor Zhao Jichun organized the experts to have a heated discussion.

At the closing ceremony of this series of tour, President Zhao Jichun said that the VTE prevention and control tour activity conducted in-depth discussions and exchanges on the treatment and challenges faced by elderly VTE, the diagnosis and treatment measures and norms of VTE, metabolic frontier research, the clinical prevention and management of VTE in the hospital, and the construction of prevention and control management system. The experts gathered together and reached a lot of consensus. The Peripheral Vascular Disease Management Branch of the Chinese Geriatric Society will make continuous efforts to promote the standardized clinical management of VTE, improve the evaluation and prevention of VTE in the hospital, and build a VTE prevention and treatment management system in the hospital, further improve the quality of medical care, promote the overall level of VTE prevention and treatment in the hospital, and ensure patient safety. And called on the majority of medical workers in the branch to inherit the red gene, jointly continue to pay attention to and support the development of elderly vascular health management at the grassroots level and in the old areas, gradually improve disease prevention and control and health security, and work hard to build a healthy China.

Vice President Wang Tao concluded that the "Fifth National Vascular Health Management Summit Forum for the Elderly and VTE Prevention and Control Wisdom Cloud Tour" was successfully concluded. From April 24 to June 13, the event was held online in Jiaxing, Zhejiang, Jinggangshan, Jiangxi, Gutian, Fujian, Baise, Guizhou, Zunyi, Shaanxi, Yan 'an, Beijing and Shenzhen. More than 60 national vascular surgery experts were invited to travel with the old district, and 8 online meetings were held, with a total of more than 100,000 people learning online. It has carried out multi-angle and multi-level academic exchanges, covering clinical, nursing, scientific research, management and other aspects. The theme of the event is distinct, well-organized, rich in content and warm in atmosphere, which has attracted the online attention of many experts in the field of vascular surgery across the country and has been recognized. In the later stage, the Branch of Peripheral Vascular Disease Management will continue to bring wonderful training and exchange activities for everyone under the leadership of President Zhao Jichun, in order to promote the development of the discipline and make continuous efforts to improve the overall medical level.
