On December 18, 2020, the general election of the Nutrition and Food Safety Branch of the Chinese Geriatric Society was held in Nanjing in a combination of online and offline.
Attending the conference were Fan Li, President of the Chinese Geriatric Society, Cheng Zhi, Vice president of the Chinese Geriatric Society, Zhao Jianchi, director of the Organization Management Department of the Chinese Geriatric Society, and managers and experts from geriatric medicine, clinical nutrition, community medicine, food science, geriatric health care and other institutions. More than 700 people attended the conference online and offline. The conference was chaired by Professor Yao Ying, Vice President of the first Committee of Nutrition and Food Safety Branch and Tongji Hospital Affiliated to Huazhong University of Science and Technology.

Qiu Yaodong, Director General of the Nutrition and Food Safety Branch of the Chinese Geriatric Society, summarized the work of the first session of the Branch from the aspects of organizational construction, academic exchanges and cooperation, academic achievements and development, talent training and international vision.
The election process was solemn and orderly, and the standing members and the leadership team of the second Committee were elected by online secret ballot. Fan Li, President of the Chinese Geriatric Society, awarded the certificate to the second Committee leadership of the Nutrition and Food Safety Branch.
Professor Hu Wen, director of Clinical Nutrition Quality Control Center of Sichuan Province and West China Hospital of Sichuan University, was elected president of the second Committee of Nutrition and Food Safety Branch of Chinese Geriatric Society.
Yu Kang, Ma Xianghua, Zhu Cuifeng, Liu Yinghua, Li Li, Zhang Pinghong, Zhang Yongsheng, Shi Wanying, Yao Ying, Weng Min (in order of the strokes of the surname) were elected as vice presidents of the second Committee of the Nutrition and Food Safety Branch of the Chinese Geriatric Society.

The Nutrition and Food Safety Branch of the Chinese Geriatric Society hired Zhang Qiujian, Fan Li, Chen Wei, Lu Fuping, Guan Xuefeng, Li Youping, Liu Yuanfa, Jiang Zhengqiang, Zhang Heping, Wang Yonghua and Cheng Zhi as expert members, among which Professor Zhang Heping was the expert chairman.
Professor Hu Wen, Chairman of the second Committee of the Nutrition and Food Safety Sub-committee, delivered a speech and first of all expressed her gratitude to all colleagues for their trust and support! On December 19, 2020, the second Committee Congress and Academic Forum of the Nutrition and Food Safety Branch of the Chinese Geriatric Society was successfully held in Nanjing. Professor Ma Xianghua of Jiangsu Provincial People's Hospital presided over the meeting.
Professor Fan Li, President of the Chinese Geriatric Society and director of the National Clinical Medical Research Center for Geriatric Diseases (PLA General Hospital), delivered a speech, and first of all expressed sincere congratulations to the new leadership of the Nutrition and Food Safety Branch. Fully recognized the contributions made by the previous committee members in the past five years, under the leadership of President Hu Wen, during the epidemic period, the group label - "Reasonable Dietary Guidance for the Prevention and Control of Novel Coronavirus Pneumonia for the Elderly at Home" was formulated and released, which was translated into English at the same time and provided to more than 50 countries free of charge, contributing to the solidarity and cooperation of the international community to fight against the epidemic.

During the meeting, the "Expert Symposium on the Future development trend of the aged food industry"; was successfully held, and more than 30 people, including the chairman, vice president, expert members and representatives of the governing units of the second Committee of the Nutrition and Food Safety Branch, participated in the symposium.
The establishment of the second committee of the Nutrition and Food Safety Branch of the Chinese Geriatric Society carries the trust and expectation of the practitioners of geriatric medicine, clinical nutrition, community medicine, food science and geriatric health care.
