On November 13, 2021, the second Committee election meeting of the Chinese Medicine Branch of the Chinese Gerontology Society was held online. Xu Xiaodong, Vice President and Secretary-General of the Chinese Geriatric Society, Zhao Jianxin, Deputy Secretary-General and relevant leaders, experts and all members of the second committee of the Chinese Geriatric Society participated in this meeting online. The meeting was chaired by Professor Li Zegeng, the Standing Committee of the first Committee of the Sub-committee, the proposed vice president of the second committee and the vice president of Anhui University of Chinese Medicine.

Xu Xiaodong, Vice President and Secretary General, read the Reply to the Change of Chinese Medicine Branch of the Chinese Geriatrics Society, Professor Chang Liping reported on matters related to the preparation for the change of Chinese Medicine Branch, and Zhao Jianxin, Deputy Secretary General, announced the candidates for the General Assembly, read the report on the qualification of members and the election methods of the branch. According to the Constitution of the Chinese Geriatric Society, the second committee of the Chinese Branch of Chinese Geriatric Society was elected in accordance with the prescribed procedures.

Professor Jia Zhenhua was elected President of the second Committee of the Chinese Medicine Branch. Eight professors, including Guan Xuefeng, Li Rong, Li Zegeng, Liu Huaimin, Sun Yongning, Tian Jinzhou, Tong Zhanqi and Xu Yunsheng, were elected as vice presidents. Prof. Chang Liping serves as the Director General; Du Junquan and Li Hongrong served as deputy directors General.

After the election, Academician Wu Yiling, chairman of the first committee and honorary president of the second Committee, delivered a speech, pointing out that the Chinese Geriatric Society Chinese Medicine Branch aims to promote and spread the application of traditional Chinese medicine in the prevention and treatment of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases, diabetes, prostate diseases and other geriatric diseases, and give full play to the advantages of traditional Chinese medicine, especially the theory of collaterals and the treatment of collaterals.
