From July 2 to 3, 2021, on the occasion of the centennial birthday of the Communist Party of China, the "Founding Conference of the Chinese Geriatric Society Ultrasound Medicine Branch and the first Geriatric Ultrasound Medicine Academic Forum"; was held in Beijing. The conference was sponsored by the Chinese Geriatric Society, co-organized by the Preparatory Committee of the Ultrasonic Medicine Branch of the Chinese Geriatric Society and Beijing Hospital, and co-organized by Beijing Tiantan Hospital affiliated to Capital Medical University and the General Hospital of the Chinese People's Liberation Army. The first committee election conference of the Ultrasound Medicine Branch of the Chinese Geriatric Society was conducted by a combination of online and offline methods. Xu Xiaodong, vice president and secretary-general of the Chinese Geriatric Society, read out the approval of the Chinese Geriatric Society Ultrasonic Medicine Branch, and Zhao Inheritance, deputy Secretary-General, presided over the election meeting. The first geriatric Ultrasound Medical Academic Forum was held. President Fan Li, Professor Wang Jianye, Professor He Wen and other special guests delivered speeches respectively, expressing warm congratulations and development expectations for the establishment of the society. The opening ceremony was presided over by Professor Ren Junhong of the Department of Ultrasound Medicine of Beijing Hospital. Special guests presented certificates to Honorary President, President, Vice President, Director General and Deputy Director General, and President Guo Fajin made a speech at the conference. The conference was a gathering academic event. Special clinical guests such as Professor Wang Jianye, Professor Li Yongjun of Vascular Surgery, Professor Zhang Wentuo of cardiovascular Medicine made special speeches. Nearly 200 well-known experts and scholars of ultrasound medicine from more than 30 provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions attended the conference. The conference opened an online conference platform, and the cumulative clicks of the online conference reached 120,900.

China has entered the aging society, so it is the important responsibility of ultrasound medical workers to explore the new ideas, new technologies and new methods suitable for the diagnosis and treatment of senile diseases and radiate them to the grassroots. We all said that under the leadership of the Ultrasound Branch of the Chinese Geriatric Society, we will not forget our original intention, take the needs of elderly health services as our own responsibility, and make due contributions to the benefit of China's elderly population and healthy China.
