Epidemiology and Disease Prevention Branch launched a series of public welfare activities "Developing Geriatric Medicine and Serving the Health of the Elderly";
Recently, the Epidemiology and Disease Prevention Branch of the Chinese Geriatric Society actively responded to the call of the association, and members from all over the country carried out various science popularization and public welfare activities in accordance with local conditions, leaving their love figure. Professor Lu Jihui from Beijing Geriatric Hospital, Director Fan Xiaoyun from the First Affiliated Hospital of Anhui Medical University and Director Dai Qingxiang from the Affiliated Hospital of Qinghai University organized a series of free diagnosis and publicity activities for common diseases of the elderly in the geriatric departments of their hospitals, to send care and warmth to the elderly.

Approaching the Double Ninth Festival, Professor Lu Jihui, a member of the Beijing Geriatric Hospital, went to Chun Xuanmao Apartment for the elderly to conduct brain health education and brain health free clinic activities. On October 8, 2022, Fan Xiaoyun, director of the First Affiliated Hospital of Anhui Medical University, a member of the branch, led the backbone of the first branch and the second branch of the cadre ward of the hospital to Xiaoyaojin Second Community Hospital to carry out the "Welcome to the 20, National free Hypertension Day diagnosis and chronic diabetes management education" activities.
At the event site, Sun Yan, director of the geriatric Endocrinology Department, gave chronic disease education and treatment guidance to diabetic patients who came to consult, and carried out popular science education on diabetic diet exercise, which was unanimously praised by the majority of patients, especially elderly patients.
On October 4, 2022, Dai Qingxiang, director of the Affiliated Hospital of Qinghai University, a member of the Branch, led the geriatric Department of the hospital to carry out a series of activities to respect the elderly. In the activity, the medical staff first brought the "Osteoporosis related knowledge" popular science video to the elderly, explaining the prevention methods of osteoporosis, and then popularized the knowledge of scientific life, diet, work and rest mode to the elderly.
While watching popular science videos, medical staff invited patients and their families to taste the blessing cake, during which they provided scientific guidance and advice from various aspects of chronic disease management, rational drug use, nutritional rehabilitation, etc., carefully told the precautions of common elderly diseases, and patiently answered the doubts of patients and their families. The atmosphere in the activity was active, the patients and their families actively participated, and the patient and meticulous explanation was praised by everyone.
On October 11, 2022, Director Dai Qingxiang led the geriatric Department to carry out science popularization activities on the theme of Alzheimer's disease in the ward.
The nursing staff uses the way of questions and answers to guide everyone to understand the symptoms of Alzheimer's disease, and everyone can easily grasp the nine measures to prevent Alzheimer's disease
Under the leadership of Head nurse Wang Min and Head Nurse Shao Liangui, senior nurses organized the elderly patients to carry out puzzles, building blocks, playing chess, quickly identifying small animals and other games to prevent Alzheimer's disease. Patients say they benefit a lot.
