The General Meeting of the Hematology Branch of the Chinese Geriatric Society and the Fifth National Congress
In the late autumn, Maple Leaf condensation, along the Huangpu River, blood and related fields experts and elites from all over the country gather in Shanghai to share an academic feast and resume profound friendship. On November 27, 2022, sponsored by the Hematology Branch of the Chinese Geriatric Society and hosted by Ruijin Hospital affiliated to the School of Medicine of Shanghai Jiao Tong University, the "General Assembly of the Hematology Branch of the Chinese Geriatric Society and the fifth National Congress" was successfully held in Shanghai. The conference took the form of a combination of online and offline, more than 300 experts and many domestic peers gathered together to celebrate the event.
Professor Fan Li, President of the Chinese Geriatric Society, Professor Chen Saijuan, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, and Professor Qu Jieming, Party Secretary of Ruijin Hospital Affiliated to Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine, addressed the meeting. President Fan Li pointed out that the Hematology Branch has celebrated its fifth anniversary since its establishment in Shanghai in 2017. In the past five years, the Hematology Branch has grown from nothing to existence, from existence to excellence, from the original 188 members to 307 members today. We are pleased to see that the scale of the Hematology Branch is gradually growing, and the academic strength is increasing day by day. It is hoped that after the change of leadership, the Hematology Branch will continue to actively carry out basic research, strengthen clinical transformation, explore the clinical application of new technologies and new treatments, continuously improve the diagnosis and treatment level of geriatric hematology, accelerate the development of geriatric hematology research, and promote the coordinated development of geriatric hematology in China. 踔厉 Work hard and move forward bravely. Prof. Shen Zhixiang, Prof. Wang Jianxiang and Prof. Wu Depei, former Chairman of the Hematology Branch of the Chinese Medical Association, Prof. Huang Xiaojun, former chairman of the Hematology Branch of the Chinese Medical Association and President of the Hematology Branch of the Chinese Medical Doctor Association, Prof. Ma Jun, chairman of the CSCO Supervisory Board of the Chinese Clinical Oncology Society, and Prof. Ji Chunyan, chairman of the Hematology Oncology Special Committee of the Chinese Anti-Cancer Association, congratulated the successful convening of the conference. The conference was chaired by Li Junmin, President of Hematology Branch of Chinese Geriatrics Society and Director of Hematology Department of Ruijin Hospital Affiliated to Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine, and co-chaired by professors Yan Hua, Bai Ou, Chang Chunkang, Hou Ming, Jiang Ming, Liu Lin, Liu Qifa, Lu Jin, Song Yongping, Xu Bing, Zhang Fengkui, Zhu Hongli, etc. Professor Li Junmin expressed his warm welcome and heartfelt thanks to all the leaders, experts and colleagues at the meeting! It also pointed out that the Hematology Branch of the Chinese Geriatric Society has been established in Shanghai since May 2017 We have been adhering to the service purpose of the Chinese Geriatric Society, strengthening academic construction, encouraging academic innovation, maintaining the vitality of the society, and making unremitting efforts to build a healthy aging society in China.
In the session of the General Assembly, Xu Xiaodong, Vice president and Secretary general of the Chinese Geriatric Society, read the "Approval of the Hematology Branch of the Chinese Geriatric Society for Preparing for the change of term". Yan Hua, director general of the first Committee of the Hematology Branch of the Chinese Geriatric Society, reported on the preparatory work for the transition. Zhao Inheritance, deputy secretary-general of the Chinese Geriatric Society, read out the "Report on the examination of the qualifications of members" and the election methods.
The General assembly of the Hematology Branch of the Chinese Geriatric Society elected the second committee and the leading team in accordance with the regulations of the Chinese Geriatric Society. Prof. Li Junmin was elected as the president of the 2nd Committee of Hematology Branch of Chinese Geriatrics Society, and 11 professors including Bai Ou, Chang Chunkang, Hou Ming, Jiang Ming, Liu Lin, Liu Qifing, Lu Jin, Song Yongping, Xu Bing, Zhang Fengkui and Zhu Hongli were elected as vice presidents. The second Committee of the Hematology Branch continued to expand its membership size, with a total of 307 members, including 87 Standing Committee members. The meeting hall broke into warm applause to express warm congratulations to the elected president and vice president. Professor Li Junmin, the elected president, nominated Professor Yan Hua as the general director of the Hematology Branch, and four professors Liu Hui, Yang Ting, Liu Yanyan and Zhao Xin as the deputy general directors. President Li Junmin said that it is believed that with the joint efforts of all members of the new session, the Branch will further strengthen academic research and exploration, promote the improvement of domestic blood disease scientific research and clinical diagnosis and treatment level, and promote the process of fine management of domestic elderly blood diseases to make more contributions!
After the end of the election session, the academic session of the conference began. The conference has a main venue and 12 sub-venues, bringing together top experts in blood and blood-related fields at home and abroad to share the concept of blood standardized treatment, and jointly discuss hot issues and latest research results in the blood field. The main venue Professor Chen Guoqiang, academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Professor Hu Yu, president of Union Hospital Affiliated to Tongji Medical College, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Professor Yu Baorong, School of Insurance, University of International Business and Economics, Professor Heinz Luding of Wilhelmina Cancer Research Center in Austria, Professor Liu Baohua of Shenzhen University have made keynote speeches. The conference stars, masters gathered, is a brainstorming, is a collision of ideas, is a knowledge feast!
First of all, Professor Chen Guoqiang, academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, made an in-depth explanation around the frontier theme of "Strengthening basic research". It was hosted by Professor Liu Qifa from Southern Hospital of Southern Medical University and Professor Song Yongping from the First Affiliated Hospital of Zhengzhou University.
Professor Hu Yu elaborated on "Standard diagnosis and treatment of multiple myeloma complicated by venous thrombosis". This paper makes an in-depth analysis of the current hot clinical issues. Professor Hou Ming from Qilu Hospital of Shandong University and Professor Jiang Ming from the First Affiliated Hospital of Xinjiang Medical University published this paperWonderful insight.
How to realize the development of hematologic oncology in public hospitals in the era of DRG? Professor Yu Baorong from the University of International Business and Economics delivered a very exciting keynote speech. Professor Lu Jin of Peking University People's Hospital and Professor Zhu Hongli of the No. 1 Medical High School of the People's Liberation Army General Hospital said Yu's lectures helped every clinician to have a better understanding of the national medical insurance policy and benefited them in guiding their daily work.
In the era of COVID-19, we also often face challenges in the field of blood diseases. Professor Heinz Luding from Ludmina Cancer Research Center in Austria has shared his valuable experience online on "how to treat blood disease patients with CoV-2 infection". Professor Zhang Fengkui from Hematology Hospital of Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences and Professor Bai Ou from Bethune First Hospital of Jilin University made wonderful comments and discussions.
A stone from another mountain can attack jade. The development of modern science has been characterized by the cross-cutting and mutual promotion of multiple disciplines. The conference specially invited Professor Liu Baohua of Shenzhen University, an authoritative expert outside the field of hematology, to make a wonderful report on the exploration of the mystery of human aging and the future drug intervention and biological therapy. Professor Xu Bing from the First Affiliated Hospital of Xiamen University and Professor Liu Lin from the First Affiliated Hospital of Chongqing Medical University held a heated discussion and exchange. It also brought the meeting to a climax.
Academic sessions in 12 sub-sessions of the conference, including leukemia, lymphoma, myeloma, MDS, red blood cell disease, platelet disease, transplantation and infection, comprehensive evaluation and supportive therapy, cellular immunotherapy, experimental diagnosis, nursing, and Young scholars, were also held in the afternoon. From basic to clinical, clinical translational research, treatment and patient management, chemotherapy targeting and immunotherapy, comprehensive evaluation and supportive treatment, nursing development and progress were discussed in depth. The meeting invited nearly 300 well-known hematology experts from all over the country, focusing on the clinical and genetic characteristics of elderly blood diseases, as well as prognosis assessment, accurate diagnosis and treatment and other key and difficult points, introducing the latest progress in related fields at home and abroad, displaying the research results of the experts' centers, and conducting in-depth exchanges and discussions. The meeting provided an academic feast for the majority of colleagues from different angles of blood disease diagnosis and treatment, and was praised by the experts attending the meeting. This meeting is of great significance for promoting cooperation and exchanges in basic research and clinical research in the field of geriatric blood diseases, promoting the construction of a healthy China, and improving people's health.
