The Chinese Society of Geriatrics issued the group standards for the assessment of visual function decline in the elderly and the mental health service standards for the elderly.

According to the requirements of the "Management Measures for Group Standards of the Chinese Geriatric Society" (Senior Medical Association [2019] No. 701), the society approved the release of two group standards, the "Evaluation criteria for Visual Function Decline of the elderly" and the "Standards for mental and mental health services for the Elderly", the standard numbers are T/CGSS 026-2022 and T/CGSS 027-2022 respectively. The standard was published on November 01, 2022 and will be implemented from November 01, 2022.



The criteria for the Assessment of geriatric visual Function Decline were jointly proposed by the National Clinical Medical Research Center for Ocular Diseases, the Ophthalmology Branch of the Chinese Geriatric Society and the Optometry Hospital affiliated to Wenzhou Medical University, and were put forward by the Chinese Geriatric Society. Drafting unit: Wenzhou Medical University Affiliated Optometry Hospital, Sun Yat-sen Eye Center, Central South University Xiangya Hospital, Peking University People's Hospital, People's Liberation Army General Hospital, Beijing Tongren Hospital Affiliated to Capital Medical University, Peking Union Medical College Hospital, Fudan University Affiliated Eye, Ear, Nose and Throat Hospital, Shanghai First People's Hospital, Tianjin Medical University Eye Hospital, Shenyang He Eye Hospital, Shantou University and the Chinese University of Hong Kong jointly Shantou International Eye Center, West China Hospital of Sichuan University, Xi 'an People's Hospital, Gansu Aier Optometry Hospital, Hunan Aier Optometry Research Institute. The main drafters of this document: Lv Fan, Chen Weirong, Liang Yuanbo, etc. 

Through scientific research and literature analysis, this paper selects the core indicators of visual function decline in old age, including: far vision, adjustment range, convergence near point, near addition, color vision, stereoscopic vision, contrast sensitivity and visual field, and systematically expresses human visual function and the characteristics of the deterioration with aging. Based on clinical appropriate detection methods and concise scientific research, the evaluation process and management application of senile visual function decline were constructed. Based on this, the Standards for Assessment of visual Function decline in the elderly are formulated to guide and standardize eye health management and visual rehabilitation in the elderly. This document specifies the contents, methods, procedures and results of the assessment of visual function decline in the elderly. This document is intended for the assessment of visual decline in the elderly.

 

The "Standard of Mental Health Services for the Elderly" was proposed by the Psychiatry and Mental Health Branch of the Chinese Geriatric Society and was put forward by the Chinese Geriatric Society. The drafting unit of this document: Chinese Geriatric Society, Peking University Sixth Hospital, Beijing Aging Mental Care Service Center, Shangrao Third People's Hospital, Sun Yat-sen University Third Affiliated Hospital, Qingdao Mental Health Center, Peking University School of Nursing. Main drafters of this document: Yu Xin, Wang Huali, Yang Ping, Li Tao, Zhao Mei, Qi Wei, Zhang Ming, Wang Bailing, Xie Hong.

The "Healthy China Action (2019-2030)" clearly points out that it is necessary to strengthen mental and mental health services for the elderly, improve the level of mental and mental health literacy, and slow down the rising trend of mental and psycho-related diseases. Therefore, it is urgent to strengthen the construction of mental and mental health service personnel, promote the accumulation of high-quality mental and mental health service resources to the side, home and surrounding of the elderly, promote the extension of professional services to communities and families, and improve the level of mental and mental health services and management of the elderly. This document applies to mental health services for older persons living in communities (villages).
