Experts from the Ear Science Branch of the Chinese Geriatric Society carried out the "Ear Care Day" free clinic activity

 

March 3, 2021 is the International "Hearing Day" advocated by the World Health Organization, and also the 22nd national "Ear Care Day" in China. The world population of deaf patients has reached 466 million people, the number of patients with hearing loss is increasing year by year, and the protection of hearing has attracted more and more attention from doctors and patients. The theme of this year's International Hearing Day is "Hearing Care for All: screen, rehabilitate, communicate". The world hearing Japan body is transformed from China's ear day.

President Gao Zhiqiang and Vice President Wang Qiuju of the Ear Science Branch of the Chinese Geriatric Society attach great importance to this ear-loving Day activity. A number of member units have carried out free clinic and popular science publicity activities in different forms. The free clinic activity attracted a large number of patients to come to consult, and the free clinic experts made warm and detailed explanations for the problems of patients, and won the praise of the majority of patients!

In order to conduct systematic research on senile deafness, the Department of Otorhinolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery of PLA General Hospital, together with 19 third-level and first-class hospitals in China, jointly undertook the special key research and development plan of the Ministry of Science and Technology for "Active Health and Aging Technology Response"; and "Research on early detection and intervention technology of senile hearing system Dysfunction";. The project is supported by the National Clinical Research Center for Otolaryngology Diseases established in 2020, Research on senile deafness will be carried out from six aspects, including "epidemiological and genetic characteristics of senile hearing system dysfunction, establishment of related warning system, clinical characteristics and related assessment and diagnosis system, and development of comprehensive intervention technology and non-drug intervention measures for senile hearing system dysfunction based on large animal models". This study will make an important contribution to promoting the prevention and control early warning, treatment and rehabilitation of senile deafness in China.
