The 9th China Conference on Geriatrics and Scientific and Technological Innovation and the Forum on Scientific Management of Geriatric Chronic Diseases and the Cambridge Elite Training Course on Geriatrics Theory and Practice
From August 5 to 9, it was organized by the Chronic Disease Prevention and Management Branch of the Chinese Geriatric Society and hosted by the General Hospital of the Northern Theater Command. The 9th China Geriatrics and Science and Technology Innovation Conference and Scientific Management Forum on Chronic Diseases of the Elderly and Cambridge Geriatrics Theory and Practice Elite Training Class co-organized by Liaoning Medical Association Geriatric Medicine Branch, Shenyang Medical Association Geriatric Medicine Branch, Hunan Health Management Society and other professional committees were jointly held in Shenyang and Changsha respectively in the form of offline and online. This conference is also the 2023 annual academic meeting of the Chronic Disease Prevention and Management Branch of the Chinese Geriatric Society.

From the current situation of chronic diseases in the elderly, scientific management, integration and thinking of geriatric medicine development, inheritance and innovation, and health protection and challenges for the elderly, a series of exploratory, forward-looking and leading scientific research results and innovative practice sharing are carried out to fully convey the new concept and new ideas of evidence-based medical treatment for chronic diseases in the elderly.

Chinese Geriatric Society chronic disease prevention and management branch president meeting
On the evening of August 5, President Li Qiangxiang organized the office meeting of the President of the Chronic Disease Prevention and Management Branch, summarized the work of the branch in the first half of the year, listened to the opinions and suggestions of the vice presidents and Standing Committee experts, and studied and arranged the work plan and academic activities of the branch in the second half of the year.
In conclusion, Chairman Li Qiangxiang said that China is rapidly entering an aging society, and aging health is an important part of a healthy China strategy. With the release of China's first series of chronic disease management guidelines in 2022, the prevention and treatment of chronic diseases in the elderly has entered the era of standardization. This conference is the first offline national conference held since the establishment of the Chronic Disease Prevention and Management Branch. The conference is rich in content and diversified in forms, and organized multi-disciplinary experts including cardiovascular, respiratory, endocrinology and metabolism, oncology, integrated Chinese and Western medicine, pharmacy and nutrition to discuss the management of chronic diseases in the elderly from multiple perspectives. It has built a platform for learning, communication and exchange to help the prevention and treatment of chronic diseases of the elderly, and has been praised by the majority of experts attending the meeting.
